Scapa Distillery
Scapa Distillery, founded by John Townsend in 1885, sits near the serene Scapa Bay in Scapa Flow, close to Kirkwallin the Orkney Islands. Renowned for its craftsmanship, Scapa is one of the few distilleries to retain Corten steel washbacks and features a unique wash still incorporating a modified Lomond still shell. Unlike its local counterpart, Scapa exclusively produces unpeated single malt whisky, celebrated for its smooth and delicate profile. With limited official and independent bottlings, partly due to historically low production, Scapa’s whiskies are treasured by enthusiasts worldwide.
