TWB Apollo Whisky
THE APOLLO COLLECTION (1968–1972)
Celebrating Lunar Legacy with Scotch Whisky
In July 2019, we launched an exclusive Deanston 10-Year-Old single malt Scotch whisky to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing. Featuring a bespoke label titled One Giant Leap, it quickly became a highly sought-after collectible. The following year, we marked the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 13 mission with Highland Park 13-Year-Old, Houston, We’ve Had A Problem. Remarkably, bottles from this release found their way to mission Commander Jim Lovell and Pilot Fred Haise.
From these beginnings, our Apollo series has evolved into an ongoing celebration of humanity’s space exploration milestones, honoring each manned Apollo mission, from Apollo 7 to Apollo 17.
THE SERIES COMPLETE
Each release in the Apollo Collection features a bespoke label, highlighting key moments and quotes from these historic missions. With titles inspired by the astronauts’ iconic words and events, these whiskies are as unique and captivating as the space missions they commemorate.
The Apollo Whisky Series, affectionately known as the "black label" collection, features releases from some of Scotland’s most prestigious distilleries. It is now complete, spanning missions from Apollo 7 through Apollo 17, and bookended by Apollo 11 releases from Deanston Distillery.

IN THE HANDS OF APOLLO ASTRONAUTS
One of the most memorable moments of the Apollo Whisky series came when bottles of Highland Park 13-Year-Old Houston, We’ve Had A Problem were presented to Apollo 13 astronauts Commander Jim Lovell and Pilot Fred Haise. These bottles were gifted during the unveiling of an Apollo 13 statue at the Space Center Houston, marking a genuinely extraordinary connection between whisky and space exploration.
SPACE WHISKY: Artistic Celebrations
To complement the Apollo series, we commissioned artist Jamie Coe to illustrate three iconic moments from Apollo missions that were not captured clearly on camera. These stunning artworks were paired with limited-edition whiskies:
- Apollo 12: Tomatin 10-Year-Old, SCE to AUX [SOLD OUT]
- Apollo 14: St. Ola (Highland Park) 15-Year-Old, Miles and Miles and Miles
- Apollo 15: Glenrothes 12-Year-Old, Get That Unusual One
These releases further expanded the legacy of the Apollo Whisky Collection, blending space exploration and whisky into an unforgettable experience.
