That said, recognition like being featured almost every year in Whisky Magazine's Icons of Whisky Scotland category since 2008, winning Online Retailer of the Year in 2018, and earning runner-up in the prestigious IWSC awards in 2017 is always an honor.

But our crowning achievement? The Queen’s Award for Enterprise in 2019. Unlike many awards, this isn’t decided by panels or votes – it’s a testament to our success as a business, built on passion, dedication, and unwavering commitment to our customers.

QUEEN’S AWARD FOR ENTERPRISE: INTERNATIONAL TRADE 2019

The Whisky Barrel.com awarded the Queen's Award for Outstanding Continuous Growth in overseas sales over the last 6 years.

The Whisky Barrel was one of just 200 organisations nationally to be recognised with a prestigious Queen’s Award for Enterprise. Announced in April 2019 TheWhiskyBarrel.com has been recognised for its excellence in international trade. This is one of our proudest moments to date. As a small family run business to receive this award purely on merit and tangible success is a great marker of our achievements and efforts as part of one of Scotland's most important and recognisable industries and assets.

First established in 1966, the Queen’s Awards for Enterprise are the most prestigious business awards in the country, with winning businesses able to use the esteemed Queen’s Awards emblem for five years following the award. We were also invited to attend a reception at Buckingham Palace hosted HRH The Prince of Wales.

Icons of Whisky Scotland 2018: Online Retailer of the Year

In 2018, The Whisky Barrel won the Online Retailer of the Year category at Whisky Magazine’s Icons of Whisky Scotland awards.

This recognition coincided with our 10th anniversary and the launch of our new, improved website in 2017. Our extensive range of Scotch whiskies, rum, and gin, paired with exceptional customer service, set us apart. That year, we also introduced a range of exclusive single-cask whiskies and rums in collaboration with independent merchants, bottlers, and micro-distillers.
