Nose: The initial aromas are wonderfully balanced, featuring notes of honey and heather intertwined with a light smokiness. There's a distinct presence of malted barley, accompanied by hints of dried fruits such as apricots and sultanas. The nose also reveals subtle floral notes, along with a touch of vanilla and a faint whiff of peat smoke, adding complexity to the bouquet.
Palate: On the palate, this whisky is medium-bodied with a smooth and creamy texture. The primary flavors include rich malt and sweet honey, with an underlying layer of sherry influence bringing in notes of raisins and dried figs. Secondary flavors emerge with hints of toffee, caramel, and a delicate spiciness, including cinnamon and a touch of black pepper. The presence of light peat smoke adds depth, enhancing the overall flavor profile without overpowering the sweetness.
Finish: The finish is long and warming, leaving a pleasant afterglow. It carries lingering notes of honey and malt, with a gentle smokiness that persists. There are subtle hints of oak and spice, along with a faint sweetness reminiscent of dried fruits and vanilla.
