One of 395 individually numbered bottles from a 1993 vintage finished in Sauterne - a type of dessert wine from the Sauternais region of the Graves section in the well known Bordeaux wine making area of France. Bottled 2006.
Designed and built by Wm. Delmé Evans and opened in 1949 on the site of a 12th century brewery at Blackford in Perthshire. Closed in 1994 but bought by a private company and fired up once again in 2003.
Tucked in on the southern edge of the Highlands and nestling at the foot of the Ochil hills, the new generation of whisky is maturing quietly whilst the older stock forms its malt range. Meanwhile a number of excellent whisky ales are being produced.
The taste is smooth and oily, the texture is round and fruity.
