TWB Tasting Notes:
Nose: A heady rush of coastal peat smoke greets you first, bringing to mind smoldering embers and sea-swept driftwood. Beneath this maritime brine and hearth-like aroma, layers of dried figs, black cherries, and date syrup emerge. Hints of chocolate-covered espresso beans, leather armchairs, and a touch of savory charcuterie round out the nose with depth and intrigue.
Palate: Bold and full-bodied, the first sip delivers an earthy peatiness that’s simultaneously robust and elegant. This smoky backbone supports waves of dark fruit preserves, treacle, and spiced fruitcake—rich sweetness that finds balance in a gentle thread of salted caramel. Notes of roasted coffee, black licorice, and toasted walnut add complexity, while a subtle nuttiness and warming oak spice lend a comforting structure.
Finish: Long, warming, and richly layered. The peat smoke gradually softens, revealing a lingering interplay of dark chocolate, dried cherries, and honeyed nuts. A faint edge of maritime salinity and smoldering oak embers persists, ensuring that the final moments of each sip are as captivating as the first.
