Laphroaig

Laphroaig Distillery was established in 1815 on the rocky south coast of the Isle of Islay off the west coast of Scotland. Laphroaig is a malt whisky distillery which continues to malt barley using its traditional malting floors and malt kiln. In 1994 Laphroaig was awarded the Royal Warrant. Visitors are welcomed at the Laphroaig Distillery visitor centre where distillery tours are available. Laphroaig Distillery participates in Feis Ile, the Islay Festival of Malt and Music. 

Opens sweetly spiced with a creamy – honey and polished oak character. This Laphroaig requires little or no water…, just give it some time to “chambré” in the glass – then on the palate detect a surprisingly sweet trait before mouth coating waves of peat plus smoke and rich spices appear. The finish is long - carrying soft chewy tar followed by a lemon & honey cough drop quality plus a lingering BBQ charred bell peppers style.
