TWB Tasting Notes:
Nose: The aroma opens with a rich wave of sherry sweetness, bringing forward inviting notes of dried fruits like raisins and figs, intertwined with dark chocolate and caramel. There’s a subtle yet distinctive presence of earthy peat smoke that adds depth, along with a hint of roasted coffee beans and warm spices like cinnamon and clove.
Palate: On the palate, this whisky is beautifully balanced, with the Oloroso sherry influence shining through. Expect a rich and full-bodied mouthfeel, where flavors of dark chocolate, toffee, and treacle are harmonized with the natural peatiness of Kilchoman. Layers of dried fruits—think dates and prunes—combine with roasted almonds and a touch of black pepper, offering a complex and satisfying taste experience.
Finish: The finish is long, warm, and lingering, with a perfect interplay of sweet sherry notes and smoky peat. As the flavors gradually fade, you’re left with a final hint of spiced oak and a gentle smokiness that echoes the character of Islay.
