Invergordon 30 Year Old 1984 vintage Highland single grain Scotch whisky. Single cask refill butt #11237 bottled February 2015 by Hunter Laing & Co. for the Sovereign range. 687 bottles.
Invergordon Distillery was established by Invergordon Distillers Ltd in 1959 at Invergordon on the Cromarty Firth in Scotland’s Highland whisky region. Invergordon opened in 1961 and supports The Invergordon Distillery Pipe Band. A single Coffey Still was increased to three in 1963 and an additional and much larger column still was introduced in 1978 in order to produce neutral spirit. Ben Wyvis malt distillery was built in its grounds in 1965 although it closed in 1976 and was demolished in 1977.
A gold whisky with a mellow nose of vanilla, shortbread, pears and a floral note. The palate has creamy butterscotch to start, followed by nuts and dark chocolate. A long and dry finish, with a nutty aftertaste.
