Invergordon 26 Year Old 1988 vintage Highland single grain Scotch whisky. Single American oak cask #DH10250 bottled 2014 by Douglas Laing & Co. for the Clan Dennny range.
Invergordon Distillery was established by Invergordon Distillers Ltd in 1959 at Invergordon on the Cromarty Firth in Scotland’s Highland whisky region. Invergordon opened in 1961 and supports The Invergordon Distillery Pipe Band. A single Coffey Still was increased to three in 1963 and an additional and much larger column still was introduced in 1978 in order to produce neutral spirit. Ben Wyvis malt distillery was built in its grounds in 1965 although it closed in 1976 and was demolished in 1977.
Opens sweetly on the nose carrying an attractively honey’d & vanilla’d character and develops to a fragrant hairdresser’s style. The palate is clean and remains sweet – candy style – before running to vanilla and soft spices. The finish is short but still sweetly toffee vanilla’d and evolves to an interesting orange pith style.
