TWB Tasting Notes:
Nose: The nose opens with a rich and inviting medley of dried fruits, including apricots, figs, and sultanas, enveloped by the warm, sweet aroma of toffee and caramel. Subtle notes of dark chocolate and roasted coffee beans emerge, complemented by a hint of sea salt and a gentle whiff of oak spice, adding depth and complexity to the bouquet.
Palate: On the palate, this whisky offers a full-bodied and luxurious experience. The influence of the Oloroso cask shines through with flavors of spiced fruitcake, laden with raisins, candied orange peel, and a touch of nutmeg. The richness is balanced by the nuttiness of roasted almonds and hazelnuts, with a layer of caramelized brown sugar adding sweetness. A soft briny note and a hint of cinnamon spice provide a unique contrast, enhancing the whisky’s complexity.
Finish: The finish is long, warm, and satisfying, with lingering notes of dried fruit, particularly raisins and figs, intertwined with toasted oak and a gentle, coastal salinity. The aftertaste leaves a lasting impression of sherried fruit richness and a subtle, spicy warmth, making it a dram to be savored slowly.
