TWB Tasting Notes:
On the nose, there's an inviting blend of dried fruits, including raisins, figs, and sultanas, intertwined with rich dark chocolate, roasted coffee beans, and a hint of cinnamon. The sherry cask influence is clear, offering notes of polished oak, walnuts, and a touch of orange zest.
On the palate, this whisky is bold and full-bodied. Layers of dried fruits, particularly figs and dates, are complemented by rich toffee, caramel, and dark chocolate. Spicy notes of cinnamon, nutmeg, and clove add complexity, while a subtle sweetness of honey and vanilla balances the robust flavors. The mouthfeel is smooth and silky, with the sherry influence adding a rich, almost velvety texture.
The finish is long and warming, with lingering notes of oak, dried fruits, and a touch of dark chocolate. A gentle spice remains, along with a pleasant sweetness that fades slowly, leaving a satisfying aftertaste. This whisky is a beautifully balanced expression, showcasing the full depth of Oloroso sherry maturation while maintaining Glenlivet's signature elegance and smoothness.
