TWB Tasting Notes:
Nose: A fruit-laden introduction awaits, with baked apple, stewed pear, and delicate apricot all wrapped in a gentle coat of honeyed toffee. As the aroma deepens, subtle notes of roasted almonds, candied orange peel, and a whisper of warm spice drift forward. Underneath, a soft undercurrent of polished oak and faint chocolate hints at the Oloroso influence yet to come.
Palate: Robust and full-bodied at 100 proof, the whisky enters with a rich sweetness—think fig jam, golden raisin, and drizzled caramel. This sweetness is balanced by warming spices, including cinnamon and nutmeg, while a gentle nuttiness and earthy malt keep the profile grounded. Each sip unfurls layers of dried fruit, treacle, and creamy milk chocolate, creating a multi-dimensional texture that’s both comforting and complex.
Finish: Long, warming, and satisfying. The orchard fruits recede slowly, giving way to a pleasant dryness tinged with cocoa nibs, espresso dust, and a lingering hint of cinnamon-spiced oak. Subtle notes of hazelnut and dark chocolate remain as a final echo, ensuring the last impression is as inviting as the first.
