On the nose, Glendronach 12 Year Old offers a rich and inviting bouquet of dried fruits, with prominent notes of raisins, figs, and dates, balanced by a hint of honey, dark chocolate, and soft oak spices. Subtle aromas of cinnamon and nutmeg linger in the background, adding warmth and complexity.
The palate is smooth and full-bodied, delivering luscious flavors of ripe plums, sultanas, and stewed apples, which are beautifully complemented by the sweetness of caramel, toffee, and treacle. The influence of the Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks adds layers of rich, sherried fruit, along with a touch of spiced oak and dark chocolate.
The finish is long, warming, and luxurious. Notes of oak, dried fruit, and gentle spices gradually fade, leaving a lingering sweetness and a hint of sherry-infused warmth.
