Girvan 26 Year Old Lowland single grain Scotch Lowland whisky. Single cask #11119 bottled November 2014 by Hunter Laing for the Sovereign series. 283 bottles.
Girvan Distillery is a Scottish Lowland grain whisky distillery situated on the Ayrshire coast. William Grant and Sons Ltd opened Girvan Distillery in 1963 to supply grain whisky to Grant’s blends of scotch but with maturation in quality casks in warehouses subject to coastal influences Girvan Distillery is also able to produce excellent single grain whiskies. Within the Girvan Distillery complex the Ladyburn Distillery produced malt whisky from 1966 until 1975.
Pale golden coloured with rich mellow sweet nose – toffee apples & a floral aroma. Smooth, sweet on the palate with crème brulee & apple skins. A long, pleasant dry finish with a slightly sweet aftertaste and a hint of oak.
