TWB Tasting Notes:
On the nose, lively aromas of fresh orange zest, marmalade, and sweet floral notes blend with underlying earthy peat smoke and a hint of oak. There's also a subtle sweetness from the wine cask influence, reminiscent of honeyed citrus and dried apricots.
On the palate, the whisky delivers a rich, full-bodied experience. Initial bursts of juicy orange, candied citrus peel, and tropical fruits combine with layers of peat smoke and warming spices. The sweetness from the orange wine cask adds a delightful contrast to the smoky, earthy character of the Ballechin, with hints of vanilla and toasted oak weaving through the complexity.
The finish is long, smooth, and complex, with lingering notes of sweet orange, soft peat smoke, and a touch of spice. The citrus sweetness gradually fades, leaving behind a gentle, smoky warmth. This whisky offers a truly unique tasting experience, with the orange wine cask finish adding an unexpected yet harmonious twist to the peated profile.
