Specially picked out by our chums at independent bottlers Douglas Laing a Caol Ila matured on Islay throughout its 27 years in a sherry hogshead fits the bill perfectly. Bottled at cask strength and without any nonsense. Just 120 bottles are available and each individually numbered. The label features a fitting tribute to this remarkable distillery which has nestled in the Sound of Islay since 1846.

Nose: Vibrant sweet sherry, brimming with citrus fruits, barley, peat smoke, polish and a feint note of emergency room. Palate: Full bodied - heavily sweet sherry, mandarin marmalade fruit explosion leading to tangy lemon peel, barley sugar with a soft malty coating of oil and a pinch of sea salt. Finish: Long, warm and satisfying, more mandarins, lingering sherry, spices and smoke. Overall incredibly well balanced.
