Linlithgow Distillery

St. Magdalene’s Distillery, founded by Adam Dawson in 1824 in Linlithgow, was a key Lowland malt whisky distillery. Ideally situated beside the Union Canal and the Edinburgh and Glasgow Railway, it enjoyed excellent access to expanding markets. Operating with four stills, St. Magdalene’s primarily produced whisky for renowned Scotch blends. The distillery closed in 1983 and was later converted into private housing, becoming a lost Lowland distillery. Today, rare single cask bottlings, including Carn Mor’s 1982 vintage, honor its legacy, making St. Magdalene’s Distillery highly sought after by whisky enthusiasts and collectors.
