Hanyu Distillery

Hanyu Distillery, located in Saitama, Japan, was originally established north of Tokyo in the 1980s and quickly gained a reputation for producing exceptional Japanese single malt whisky. Although the distillery ceased operations in 2000and was demolished in 2004, its legacy continues through the release of exclusive Hanyu single malt limited editionsand single cask bottlings. Demonstrating remarkable resilience, the Toa Shuzo Company meticulously rebuilt the Hanyu Distillery, successfully reopening it in February 2021. This revival marks a new chapter for Hanyu, as the distillery resumes crafting premium malt whisky by blending traditional distilling techniques with modern innovations to ensure outstanding quality.
