Glenisla Distillery
During the 1970s, Glen Keith Distillery, a distinguished Speyside malt whisky producer, employed one of its stills to uniquely concentrate peat flavor by infusing water with peat smoke imported from Stornoway. This innovative peated water was integral to crafting limited editions of Craigduff malt whisky and Glenisla malt whisky, serving as an alternative to sourcing peated whisky from Islay for use in prestigious Chivas blends. The resulting small-batch whiskies, known for their rich smoky character, have become highly sought after by whisky enthusiasts and collectors. Signatory Vintage has meticulously bottled a few casks of these rare expressions, offering exclusive releases of Craigduff and Glenisla malt whiskies. This distinctive production method not only enhanced Glen Keith’s role in the blended Scotch market but also preserved the traditional peat influence, making these whiskies a prized addition to any connoisseur’s collection.
