Cameronbridge Distillery

Cameronbridge Distillery, founded by John Edington in 1813 on the banks of the River Leven at Windygates in Fife, is a cornerstone of Scotland’s Lowland whisky region. Passing into the hands of Philp & Haig by 1817, Cameronbridge embraced innovation early on, installing Stein’s continuous stills in 1830 and Coffey’s continuous stills by the mid-1880s. Until 1929, it produced both grain and malt whiskies, laying the groundwork for its longstanding reputation in Scotch grain whisky. Today, a select portion of Cameronbridge grain whisky is matured by Hunter Laing in premium casks, resulting in aged single grain and single cask expressions under their Sovereign range—further cementing Cameronbridge’s legacy as a pivotal player in Scotland’s whisky history.
