TWB Tasting Notes:
Nose: An initial flourish of dried dark fruits—think raisins, figs, and dates—melds with layers of gooey toffee, toasted brown sugar, and spiced orange marmalade. Beneath these indulgent aromas lie subtle hints of polished oak, soft leather, and a delicate waft of cinnamon that rounds out the aromatic profile.
Palate: Full-bodied and assertive at 100 proof, the whisky coats the tongue with rich waves of fruitcake, treacle fudge, and honeyed nuts. The natural sweetness is complemented by warm baking spices—clove, nutmeg, and cinnamon—while a faint whisper of orchard fruit and chocolate-covered raisins adds complexity. A balanced interplay between Oloroso depth and a gentle, underlying Speyside elegance emerges with each sip.
Finish: Long, warming, and harmonious. The sweetness ebbs gradually, leaving behind echoes of cocoa nibs, roasted coffee beans, and a gentle oak dryness. A lingering note of candied fruit and subtle spice ensures that the memory of this dram stays pleasantly on the palate well after the glass is empty.
