TWB Tasting Notes:
Nose: The nose is wonderfully complex, opening with layers of dried fruits—figs, raisins, and dates—enveloped by rich notes of dark chocolate, polished leather, and sweet sherry. Subtle hints of beeswax, orange peel, and a delicate smokiness add depth and intrigue, reflecting the long maturation in an Oloroso sherry cask.
Palate: On the palate, this whisky is full-bodied and velvety smooth, delivering an opulent mix of flavors. The sweet sherry influence is prominent, with flavors of sultanas, toffee, and rich fruitcake, balanced by notes of dark cocoa, cinnamon, and clove. The signature waxy mouthfeel of Clynelish is beautifully complemented by the complex, sherry-driven richness, creating a harmonious and luxurious taste experience.
Finish: The finish is long, warming, and exceptionally satisfying, with lingering notes of dried fruits, sherry sweetness, and a gentle spice. A touch of oak and a whisper of smoke provide a refined conclusion to this elegant whisky.
