This award recognises The Whisky Barrel’s “outstanding continuous growth in overseas sales over the last 6 years”. As a small family owned and run business, we are truly thrilled to receive such prestigious recognition for our efforts. Established in 2007, we have positioned ourselves as one of the leading online businesses specialising in the retail of Scotch Whisky.
As a Scottish business, we are immensely proud to be involved with one of Scotland’s most recognisable and thriving industries:- scotch whisky. Working with our close network of suppliers, many of whom are similarly family owned and independent businesses, we strive to contribute to Scotland’s, and the UK’s, international trade network. This award is a significant marker for the success of The Whisky Barrel. In addition, it highlights our fantastic customers both home and abroad. Thank you to all who have supported us.

The Queen’s Awards for Enterprise are the most prestigious business awards in the UK. The awards were fist established in 1965 and since then over 7,000 companies have achieved a Queen’s Awards.
The awards celebrate the success of exciting and innovative businesses which are leading the way with pioneering products or services, delivering impressive social mobility programmes or showing their commitment to excellent sustainable development practices.

So, starting out as a pokey wee whisky shop in 2007 we have now received acclaim as an internationally successful and recognised business. With this success we will continue our commitment to provide our customers with the best selection of scotch whisky and single cask rum. Indeed, we have exciting plans afoot. We will continue to expand our selections of exclusive releases:- this award will mean we do so with a bigger smile on our faces.
